Our story
I made Sky Glow for the life I was actually living.
My days didn't fit neatly into a skincare routine.
Over the last six years, I've lived in Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Palo Alto, Austin, New York and Los Angeles.
Different cities. Different chapters. Almost always the same pace.
Grad school. Markets before sunrise. Long office days. Workouts in the gaps. Flights. Late nights. Then doing it all again.
Somewhere along the way, I started paying more attention to what all of that meant for my skin — uneven tone, dehydration, dullness, and the need for something that could support recovery without making my routine more complicated.
I didn't want ten products for ten different versions of my day. I wanted something I could reach for consistently.
Seven cities. Six years.

The founder
Basil William Barrett
Basil, with a long A — “BAA-sil.”

Life
Basil saw the same pace in his peers on Wall Street — early mornings, long hours, travel, and routines built around whatever time was left. Different careers, different schedules, same reality: life rarely happens under perfect conditions, and skincare still has to fit somewhere within it.
- 02
Curiosity
Basil studied finance and business at Morehouse College, graduating summa cum laude, and continued at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His work has spanned technology strategy, investment research, business development and wealth management. It shaped how he approaches a problem.
- 03
Research
What's actually happening? What does the evidence say? What works together? What could be built better? Those four questions became the development philosophy behind Sky Glow Labs.
- 04
The brief
The goal was never to chase one dramatic before-and-after. It was to create one dependable serum for the overlap between uneven tone, dehydration, environmental stress, and a compromised-feeling barrier — concerns that often arrive together after the gym, a flight, a late night, or a long day at work.
- 05
Formulation
Lunéveil began with the skin concerns worth addressing rather than a trending ingredient. It went through repeated development and refinement, because an impressive ingredient list alone was never the point. Sensory experience mattered. Daily usability mattered. Elegance mattered.
- 06
The name
Lunéveil brings together lune — French for moon — and éveil — awakening. The name reflects both sides of the ritual: preparing skin for the day and returning to recovery at night. Restoration isn't a finish line. It's a cycle.

Sky Glow Labs
A brand for what comes after — after sweat, after steam, after screens, after flights, after long days, and before starting all over again the next morning.
“I didn't just want an impressive ingredient list. I wanted the serum I would actually use after the gym, after a long day at the office, after a flight, after a late night — and before starting all over again the next morning.”
— Basil William Barrett

Skin in its softest light.
